We recently got the chance to sit down with lyricist and fellow Vacavillain Uptown Swuite before he left for tour in New Zealand. The Polynesian emcee discussed misconceptions about his hometown, musical influences and his new album Church Street Blues. In our 17-minute chat with Uptown, he also touch basis on his visit to Tek & Sway’s “Wake Up Show,” his afilliation with San Jose based clothing brand Cukui and his Lee Bannon project that never saw the light.
